PolyMax™ PC-FR is a fire-retardant PC filament displaying strength and toughness whilst also achieving a V0 score in the UL94 flame retardancy test. PolyMax™ PC-FR can reduce the intensity of a fire or slow/stop the spread of fire due to its self-extinguishing characteristics.

HAS POLYMAX™ PC-FR BEEN TESTED BY A THIRD-PARTY?

Yes, PolyMax™ PC-FR has been tested by SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services Co., Ldt.

TEST METHOD:

IEC 60695-11-10:2013/Cor.1:2014 Method B

Result:

Classification: V-0

DOES THE FR AFFECT THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES?

The FR additive will make the material less ductile which means a higher tensile strength and Young's modulus (more rigid). However, the PC will maintain its great impact and high heat resistance.

RECOMMENDED PRINTING CONDITIONS:

    • Nozzle temperature - 250-270 (˚C)
    • Build Surface material - almost any surface with a thin coat of PVA glue or MAGIGOO PC
    • Build plate temperature - 90-105 (˚C)
    • Cooling fan Turned - off
    • Printing speed - 30-50 (mm/s)
    • Raft separation distance - 0.2 (mm)
    • Retraction distance - 1-3 (mm)
    • Retraction speed - 60 (mm/s)
    • Recommended environmental temperature - 90-100 (˚C)
    • Threshold overhang angle - 45 (˚)
    • Recommended support material PolyDissolve S2

Based on 0.4 mm nozzle and Simplify 3D v.3.1. Printing conditions may vary with different nozzle diameters.

Note:

  • For better part strength and to relieve the residual stress, annealing the parts at 100℃ for 2 hours right after printing.
  • PolyMax™ PC-FR needs be dried before printed if it has been stored in air for long time.
