Fiberon PA612-CF15
Polymaker Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 is a unique 3D printing filament that combines the best of both worlds: the strength and rigidity of carbon fiber reinforcement with the low moisture absorption of a long-chain polyamide. This makes it an ideal choice for applications requiring high performance and dimensional stability, even in challenging environments.
Key Features:
- Balanced Performance: This filament is based on a copolymer of PA6 and PA12, offering a balance of strength, flexibility, and moisture resistance. It boasts superior mechanical properties compared to PA12-based materials and lower moisture sensitivity than PA6 or PA66.
- Carbon Fiber Reinforcement: The addition of 15% carbon fiber significantly enhances the tensile strength, stiffness, and heat resistance of the material. This results in robust and durable parts capable of withstanding demanding loads and temperatures.
- Low Moisture Absorption: Compared to PA6 and PA66, PA612-CF15 exhibits significantly lower moisture absorption. This minimizes warping, dimensional changes, and property degradation caused by humidity, ensuring consistent performance over time.
- Dimensional Accuracy: Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 incorporates Polymaker's Warp-Free technology, which minimizes warping and shrinkage during printing. This leads to highly accurate and dimensionally stable prints, even for complex geometries.
- Excellent Printability: The carefully engineered formulation ensures smooth extrusion and good layer adhesion, resulting in high-quality prints with excellent surface finish.
Applications:
- Functional Prototyping: Create prototypes that accurately represent the mechanical and thermal properties of end-use parts, even in humid environments.
- Aerospace: Manufacture lightweight and strong components for drones, UAVs, and other aerospace applications where moisture resistance is critical.
- Automotive: Produce under-the-hood components, brackets, and housings that can withstand high temperatures and exposure to moisture and chemicals.
- Marine: Print durable parts for marine applications that require resistance to water and saltwater environments.
- Industrial Manufacturing: Create jigs, fixtures, and end-use parts for demanding applications where a balance of strength, moisture resistance, and dimensional stability is essential.
Note:
- Abrasion of the brass nozzle happens frequently when printing Fiberon™ PA612-CF15. Normally, the life of a brass nozzle would be approximately 9h. A wear-resistance nozzle, such as hardened steel and ruby nozzle, is highly recommended to be used with Fiberon™ PA612-CF15.
- Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 is sensitive to moisture and should always be stored and used under dry conditions (relative humidity below 20%).
- If Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 is used as the support material for itself, please remove the support structure before excessive moisture absorption. Otherwise, the support structure can be permanently bonded to the model.
- After the printing process, it is recommended to anneal the model in the oven at 100°C for 16 hours.
Polymaker Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 offers a unique combination of properties that bridge the gap between strength and moisture resistance. Its balanced performance, dimensional accuracy, and ease of printing make it an excellent choice for professionals and makers seeking a versatile high-performance material for demanding applications.
